Nationally-known college basketball analyst Debbie Antonelli will serve as the featured speaker for the upcoming Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame’s speakers luncheon series.
The luncheon will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 11:45-1:15 p.m. at Wrightsville Beach Brewery, 6201 Oleander Drive, in Wilmington.
Tickets are $25 each and may be purchased by contacting Louise McColl, GWSHOF chair, at 910-233-0999. The deadline for buying tickets is July 20, 2026.
The three signature events for the GWSHOF’s 2027 induction weekend are set. The weekend will feature an introductory luncheon (May 14), the Joe Miller Memorial Golf Tournament (May 15) and the Induction Ceremony (May 16).
The GWSHOF celebrated its 20th Anniversary in a major way on May 17, 2026, with the induction of Bill Curry, Fred Lynch, Ron Musselman, Tamera Young and Ed Wilson into its pantheon of greats. A sellout crowd of more than 500 supporters convened at the Wilmington Convention Center to enjoy a night of wonderful food, warm fellowship and inspirational speeches in a memorable evening.
The Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating Wilmington’s rich sports history and honoring its legendary athletes, coaches and contributors. It was created in 2005 under the guidance of Hall of Fame football coach Bill Dooley.
The distinguished first class was introduced in 2006 and the Class of ’26 was honored during the GWSHOF’s 20th anniversary celebration on May 17, 2026.
The GWSHOF Board of Directors is composed of community leaders who organize and administer the group’s three keynote events, capped by the Legends Induction Banquet. The Wilmington community continues to support the GWSHOF’s efforts each year through strong attendance at the events and sponsorships.
